The Dutch town Beegden is since 1991 a district of Limburg Heel community and is located on the left bank of the Meuse about 10 km southwest of the city of Roermond. The town has about 2,800 inhabitants and is situated at an altitude of only 7-10 meters above sea level.

In the still partly agrarian village, not least, tourism plays a very important role close to the popular city of Roermond and the water sport opportunities on the Meuse.
