Beeston Hockey Club

The Beeston Hockey Club is an English Hockey Club from about six kilometers southwest of the center of Nottingham Beeston located. The association with the colors blue and yellow was founded in 1907 by originating from Beeston Nottingham school graduates in 1913 had two teams before the matches due to the first world war was interrupted. For the season 1919/1920 re-established the club still played in two different facilities in Beeston, before moving with other hockey clubs in the new Nottingham City Council Park in Highfields, where you remained until 1967. Until 1978, the space behind the Ferry Boat Inn in Stoke Bardolph was the home of Beeston HC, but returned to the club in 1978 Highfields Hockey Centre back, and together with the Crimson Ramblers Ladies Hockey Club the Highfields Sports Club. 1988 received the association one of the first club's artificial turf courses in the country. Supported by Sport England and National Lottery funds in 2002 two new artificial turf fields and a further training course could be built, as well as the clubhouse to be expanded.

In 2005, Beeston HC a women's section with players who were mostly at the former Charnock Ladies HC active. 2008 merged the club with Nottingham Highfields Ladies HC ( formed from the merger of Crimson Ramblers and Sherwood Ladies Hockey Club ) as the new Beeston Hockey Club with eight men's and seven women's teams.

Gentlemen

Beeston won his first national title in 2008 by a 4-3 final victory in the FA Cup on Bowdon HC. In 2010, this success will be repeated with a 2-1 win over Hampstead and Westminster HC. In the 2008/2009 season Beeston took third place in the England Hockey League and qualified for the first time for the Euro Hockey League. There, the team reached after victories in the first round via KHC Leuven and Saint- Germain -en- Laye HC the knockout stages, which in turn was lost to Leuven 1:3. As English runners in 2010 eligible to play European, Beeston survived again the preliminary round of the EHL after wins against Atlètic Terrassa and CA Montrouge.
