Behaim (crater)

56.21

Behaim is an impact crater on the eastern edge of the moon. It is located between the craters Ansgarius in the north and in the south Hecateus. Southeasterly direction to recognize the crater Gibbs and the North East the small crater Dale.

The inner walls of the crater rim show the remains of old, worn-out terraces. The rim itself is eroded by subsequent impacts, and has on the north side of an indentation, which distorts the otherwise circular structure. At the center of the crater floor, a central peak rises. A similar notch canyon cuts through the southern crater rim and continues to the south.
