Beheading the Chinese Prisoner

Beheading the Chinese Prisoner is an American silent film about the Boxer Rebellion of 1900. Directed by Siegmund Lubin, who realized the recordings in the attic of the Lubin Studios in Philadelphia. The film was inspired by the reports of the Boxer Rebellion. The release of the film took place in August of the same year.

Action

A Chinese prisoner is before he is ever convicted, beheaded. At the end of the film the executioners shows the viewers the severed head of the prisoner.

Background information

The film is one of the first films that dealt with the subject of the Boxer Rebellion. For its implementation, a Yellow Face- actor was used.
