Béhorléguy

Béhorléguy (Basque Behorlegi ) is a commune with 76 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Pyrénées- Atlantiques in the Aquitaine region. It belongs to the district of Bayonne and the canton of Saint -Jean -Pied -de-Port.

The municipality is part of the Pays de Cize in the Basque province of Basse- Navarre. Districts are: Cayolar d' Istaurdy, Etchebérriborda and Ihidoya. Neighboring municipalities are: Hosta in the north, Saint -Just- Ibarre in the northeast, Lecumberry the northwest, Aussurucq in the east and in the south Mendive.

The place name Béhorléguy occurs in the past in different variations: Beorrleguy ( 1264 ), Béhorléguy ( 1292 ), Beorrlegui (1350 ), Beorlegui ( 1513) and Vehorlegui ( 1621)
