Behzad Nabavi

Behzad Nabavi ( Persian: بهزاد نبوی; * 1941 ) is an Iranian politician. He co-founded the reformist party organization of the Mujahideen of the Islamic Revolution, and occasionally also Deputy Parliament Speaker.

Career

Nabavi started his political career in the underground against the Pahlavi dynasty fighting, for which he had to spend some time in prison from 1972. During the Islamic Revolution, he was co-founder of the Committee of the Islamic Revolution, the massive vorgingen against the opposition. He also founded the later Ministry of Intelligence and Security.

After the prolonged occupation of the U.S. embassy in Tehran, he served as chief negotiator in the talks with the United States release of the hostages.

Nabavi is also a member of the Central Committee of the Islamic revolution. Nabavi is in several state-owned oil company and CEO of Petro Pars.

As a Member of Parliament shall Nabavi as one of the biggest critics of the Guardian Council.
