Since then a number of other models of this locomotive type were developed. The locomotives of the CNR - series were during the 1970s and 1980s in the North and Central region, the most important Passagierlok, and on many rail lines such as the Beijing- Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai, the Long - Hai, Jing Bao, Jingshan, the former Beijing Railway encountered. By the time production stop in 1990, the number of units built amounted to 374 pieces.

The Beijing- diesel type BJ from the 27th locomotive factory in Beijing produced mainly as a four -axle locomotive with hydraulic power transmission for passenger traffic in series. It has a rated power of 1500 kW; the top speed is 120 km / h Beijing locomotives have two types. A four-axis Einzellok type, which is specially equipped for freight or passenger and nicknamed "Little Beijing " got locomotive fans. An eight-axle double -Lok, which carries the true name "Beijing " and is only used in passenger trains. Locomotives of these two series are now gradually phased out, but China will continue to promote the most successful locomotive with hydraulic transmission.
