Beijing South Railway Station (Chinese北京南站, Pinyin Běijīng Nan Zhan, in short:北京 南, Běijīng NAN ) is a railway station in the south of the Chinese capital Beijing. Opened before the Olympic Games on 1 August 2008, the South Railway Station serves the integration of Greater Beijing in the high-speed traffic to the south.

History

Designed by the British architect Terry Farrell in collaboration with the Tianjin Design Institute station replaced after less than three years of construction, the former South Station Yongdingmen ', which was in operation 1897-2006.

Vehicular importance
