Beirut Governorate

The government Beirut (Arabic محافظة بيروت Muhafazat Bayrut ) is the only governorate in Lebanon, which consists of only one district and one city, Beirut.

The area of this governorate is only 19.8 km ²; nevertheless this governorate is considered due to its economic, political, cultural and social activities as the most important region in Lebanon.
