Bekdorf

Bekdorf is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography and transport

By Bekdorf the Bekau flows. The village lies on the main road 5 and the Marschbahn between Wilster and Itzehoe. The stations Wilster and Itzehoe are the nearest stations of rail transport. Bus of the transport association Steinburg connect Bekdorf weekdays with Itzehoe.

History

Bekdorf is first mentioned in 1247. At the bridge over the Bekau occurred in 1657 during the Polish -Swedish War to a battle between the Danes and Swedes.
