The Belbo ( Piedmontese Berb or Belb ) is a 86 km long river in Southern Piedmont ( northwestern Italy). He is a right-side tributary of the Tanaro, the largest northern flow of the Ligurian Alps. Its sources lie at about 800 m above sea level in the mountains of Montezemolo on the border between Liguria and Piedmont, its catchment area covers about 516 square kilometers, mostly in the Langhe Plateau. Its average discharge is 6 cubic meters per second.

On his run of Belbo crosses the three Piedmontese provinces of Cuneo, Asti and Alessandria. It flows - as its easterly parallel Bormida - at Villa del Foro few km west of the city of Alessandria in the Tanaro, which in turn is 15 km will flow to the bottom.

The gentle hill country northwest of the river is called Bassa Langa ( Langa low ) and is known for its viticulture. The higher hills southeast of the Belbo is called Alta Langa.
