Belfast Blitz

As Belfast Blitz the night attack by the Luftwaffe against Belfast is called during the Second World War.

The attack was carried out on 15 April 1941 and was the industrial plants in Belfast, which produced armaments for the British military. By this attack, which was carried out by 200 bombers, approximately 1,000 people died - the greatest loss outside of London during a single attack. More than half of the houses were destroyed. 100,000 of the approximately 400,000 residents were left homeless in the attack.
