Bemidji Curling Club

The Bemidji Curling Club is an American curling club from Bemidji, Minnesota. He has multiple champions at state and national championships. Best Merits are winning the silver medal of the women's team at the 2005 World Championships and the bronze medal of the men's teams for the United States at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.

History

The history of the Bemidji Curling Club begins in the 1930s. In 1952 the first national championship of Minnesota are obtained. In the following years the title was won two more times. 1979, the team won by Scott Baird next to the fourth national championship for the Bemidji Curling Club for the first time the national championship. In the 1990s, the club became one of the leading curling clubs in the United States. Numerous titles at the state and national level could be obtained. Especially at junior level successes have been achieved. The highlight was the world champion of the juniors, led by Cassandra Johnson in 2002. Moreover, the men's and women's teams several times after qualifying to be allowed to make up Team USA at World Championships and Olympic Games. In 2005, the women's team won the World Championship silver medal in 2006 defeated the men's team at the Olympic Games until the semi-finals to Canada and won bronze.
