Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck ( born August 15, 1972 in Berkeley, California as Benjamin Géza Affleck - Boldt ) is an American actor, film director and Oscar- award winning screenwriter (1998) and producer ( Best Picture 2013).
Life
Ben Affleck was born in California, grew but at Cambridge, Massachusetts. When he was 13 years old, he lived a year in Mexico and therefore speaks Spanish. His family has Irish, Scottish and Hungarian roots. His father is a social worker who has since separated from Affleck's mother, a teacher. As a child he took over, partly with his brother Casey Affleck, roles in television films. At the age of nine, he had his television debut in street with no way out.
Affleck lived in Cambridge near Matt Damon and became friends during that time with him. He also grew up in the neighborhood of Howard Zinn, who became a family friend. After graduating from high school, he and Damon moved to Los Angeles. Together they wrote the screenplay for Good Will Hunting, received an Oscar and a Golden Globe Award for both 1998.
After Affleck was noticed at the beginning of his career rather independent films like Dazed and Confused or the Kevin Smith films Mallrats, Dogma and Chasing Amy, he turned in the result of both small, personal films such as Bounce - A chance for love or A night in New York, but also blockbusters like Armageddon - The Last Judgement, The stop and Pearl Harbor. From 1998 to 2000 he was in a relationship with Gwyneth Paltrow and from 2002 to 2004 with Jennifer Lopez. Since 29 June 2005, he is married to actress Jennifer Garner. They have two daughters and a son. In May 2013 Ben Affleck received an honorary doctorate degree from Brown University, Rhode Iceland. He was awarded for his work as an actor, producer, screenwriter and director of the title of Doctor of Fine Arts.
On August 22, 2013 it was announced that Affleck will play the role of Batman in the upcoming sequel to Man of Steel, which is the first meeting of Batman and Superman in a movie.
