Beñat Albizuri

Beñat Albizuri Aransolo (born 17 May 1981 in Berriz, Vizcaya Province ) is a Spanish cyclist.

Career

2002 represented Beñat Albizuri the first time attention to himself, as he finished second on the third leg of the tour bakischen Bidasoa Itzulia. In 2004 he was second in the one-day races and won the Memorial Valenciaga criterion Prueba Santa Cruz.

Albizuri began his career in 2005 with the cycling team Orbea. Already in August, he drove for Euskaltel -Euskadi as a stagiaire. For the following season, he signed a contract with the Basque ProTour team. In the Vuelta de Murcia, he was on the last leg in sixth place. He then competed in the Giro d' Italia in his first major tour. He was once in a breakaway group and reached the finish in Milan. The next year he started again at the Giro d' Italia, but had to give up on the 8th stage an upset stomach.

In 2008, he ended his career as a professional cyclist.
