Bengtskär

Bengtskär [ bɛŋtʃæ ː r] is the southernmost inhabited island Finnish. It is located in the Baltic Sea at the entrance to the Gulf of Finland, about 25 km southwest of Hanko, 200km from Helsinki and 100 km southeast of Turku in Swedish speaking part of Finland. Hence the name has its origin. Bengt is a Swedish man's name, skär swedish means a small rocky island ( islet ).

The lighthouse Bengtskär with 46 m height of the tallest lighthouse in the Nordic countries. The lighthouse has a height of 51 m above the fire. The house is home to a small hotel in the summer.
