Benignity

Benignity (Latin Benignitas, goodness ', ' mild ') generally means " good nature ".

As a virtue

Under benign nature is understood the virtues "goodness" and " goodness " as well as " loving-kindness ".

Associated with this are attitudes and actions of mindfulness, kindness, helpfulness and caring, compassion, sharing and giving, kindness, goodness, etc. is often paired with wisdom and serenity. This requires an inner and outer satisfaction. Kindness as a virtue is a character trait; not something to which one strives or that you " do ". A " good man " always looks " good" in others and in situations and " doing good ".

Benign nature should not be confused with "can not defend themselves ."

In Medicine

In medicine, the term is used (eg, tumors or epileptic seizures ) to identify the benign nature of an illness or disease process. A benign tumor always respected the basement membrane in its growth, so does not grow into vessels or foreign tissue. Thus it scatters less rapidly (see also: dignity ).

The opposite of benign is malignant, the malignancy.
