The Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium, is a multi-purpose arena in the Tanzanian economic capital Dar es Salaam. It was named after Benjamin William Mkapa, the third president of Tanzania, who served from 1995 to 2005.

The complex was built from November 2004 to February 2007 by the Beijing Construction Engineering Company Limited. Of the cost of TZS 56.4 billion (53 million U.S. $ ) in Tanzania contributed TZS 25 billion, the rest took over the Chinese government.

The currently used mainly for football matches stadium has a seating capacity of 60,000. It corresponds to FIFA and IOC standards. The Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium, replacing the previous built 25,000 -seat National Stadium in 1961, the Uhuru Stadium.
