Benoît Joachim
Benoît Joachim ( born January 14, 1976 in Foetz ) is a Luxembourgian cyclist.
Sporting career
Benoît Joachim began his professional career in 1999 with Team U.S. Postal Service Pro Cycling Team, that then went under the name of the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team. Benoît Joachim was one of the main " workhorse " of the team. He drove in the Tour of Spain in 2004 into the spotlight. As the first he could Luxembourg there slip on the leader's jersey and wore it two days.
The highlight of the 2004 season was Joachim's victory in the time trial championship in Luxembourg, his third victory in five years.
Doping
2001 Joachim increased Nandrolonwert was found. He was suspended by his team. The B- sample confirmed the doping, but because of sloppiness in the analysis of the B sample, the result could not be recognized. Joachim was allowed to go with his team.
Family
The half-brother of Benoît Joachim, Aurélien, playing in the Luxembourg national football team.
Political career
In the Luxembourg Parliament Elections 2009 Benoît Joachim enters as a DP candidate in the district to the south.
