Benomyl is a fungicide, which binds to microtubules. This can no longer run important processes such as intracellular transport and cell division. Benomyl preferred microtubules of fungi compared to those of animals.
Benomyl was developed in 1968 by the company DuPont. Already in the seventies, there was resistance. The recent approvals ran from 2003.
In Germany and Austria no pesticides are more with this particular drug. Approval in Switzerland have now been lifted.
