beNUTS

BeNUTS is a German, originally from Munich ska band that was formerly founded in 1994 by Daniel Mauss of The Braces and Pedro Steffan, Skaos.

Band History

The eight-member band was born in Munich in 1994. The band name is supposed to represent an invitation to dance. In 1996 the debut album - "Three Tone S'kaa " on ( ArtYSan Records).

The band was in southern Germany live very active and targeted quickly because of multilingual texts abroad. Two albums at the Düsseldorf label Wolverine Records lead the band through Germany ( tour with Bad Manners ) and Europe ( Austria, Switzerland, France, Czech Republic, Spain, Slovenia, Italy).

On the "sex sells " Tour 2004 beNUTS played some shows with the Spanish band Ska -P in Germany. 2005 beNUTS appeared as one of the first German ska bands in Russia and Serbia. 2006 saw the publication Maxi CD " A fistful of offbeat " on which expands the musical horizons of ska offbeat rock. In March of the same year the band played seven concerts in Japan. In December 2006, the band released the live album " Best of ... live! " On Wolverine Records. New singer of the band was Konrad " El Konno " Wissmath. With him the album "Bavarian Ska Maniacs " which was originally recorded for the Japanese market was created, but was expelled the following year on pork pie in Europe. In March 2008, the band performed again in Russia and was broadcast at A - One TV and MTV Russia. In the fall of 2008, the last founding member Daniel Mauss ended his active career as a musician and took over the management of the band.

Band was beNUTS in November 2008 as the best German Ska honored by DRMV. The Goethe Institute sent the band in June 2009 on a tour of Romania. In GLM Records appeared on 30 October 2009, the seventh album " Shut up and dance ". After Germany - tour of the same name also singer El Konno again left the band to pursue his own musical projects. After a year singer search, during which it was quiet around the band, took over in late 2010 bassist Fabian addition, the position at the microphone. Since the end of 2011, the former singer New Year's Eve after nearly 10 years of absence is again active band member.
