Benzanilide is a chemical compound from the group of carboxamides.
Production and representation
Benzanilide can be obtained by the reaction of benzoic acid or benzoyl chloride with aniline.
It can also be made of benzophenone oxime by Beckmann rearrangement with phosphorus pentachloride in diethyl ether.
