Benzyl acetate is a chemical compound selected from the group of carboxylic acid esters.
Occurrence
Benzyl acetate occurs naturally in many fruits, fungi, and especially flowers and their oils (for example, jasmine and ylang- ylang) ago.
Production and representation
Benzyl acetate can be obtained by the reaction of benzyl alcohol with acetic acid and sodium acetate or benzyl chloride with alkali.

Safety
The vapors of benzyl acetate can form (102 ° C, ignition temperature 460 ° C flash point) with air to form an explosive mixture.
