Beriev Be-200

The Beriev Be -200 Altair (Russian Бериев Бе -200) (ICAO Code: BER2 ) is a Russian amphibious aircraft.

History

This machine is a significantly revised and smaller version of the Beriev Be - 42nd The Be-200 can run both land and water surfaces. Applications are the sea surveillance, environmental protection, fire-fighting operations, passenger or Frachtguttransport. First commercial users of the Be-200 is Azerbaijan, which formally in Taganrog on 25 April 2008 became the first machine, after 2007, a contract was signed. Construction

The hull is divided into an upper -pressurized part with dimensions of 18.70 m (length), 2.50 m (width) and 1.90 m (height) and a lower part with no pressure ventilation, which accommodates the equipment for fire fighting. Aluminum alloys are used as materials having an increased corrosion resistance, and composites.

The machine has a triple redundant fly-by -wire system and a large avionic with six 15 × 20 -cm color displays in the cockpit. The supercritical wing used have a sweep angle of 23 °.

For use as a water bomber, the Be-200 can accommodate a total of 12,000 liters of water in eight tanks under the cabin floor.
