Berliner Straße (Berlin U-Bahn)

The subway station Berliner Straße is a station of the lines U7 and U9 of the Berlin U -Bahn.

It is located at the junction of the same name Berliner Straße and the Federal Avenue in the center of the district of Wilmersdorf. Since the federal road that runs to reach the station in a tunnel, not a simple central platform could be created for the station U9. Rather, two side platforms were ( with exit in direction of travel left as a central platform ) is created, which are connected to each other on the one hand on the U7- platform, on the other hand, a direct walkway on the northern end where the tunnel is already leading to the surface.

The station was designed by Rainer G. Rümmler, this used here for the design of the two planes red wall tiles. For a comprehensive renovation of the station in 1999, these were replaced by equally red-colored enamel plates.

In the immediate vicinity of the station there is also a connecting tunnel between the two subway lines. Was controlled by the interlocking of this Berlin street, which was located at the station. 2004 this was taken out of service.
