The municipality Bern Ried is in this form as a unified community since May 1, in 1978 the three districts Edenstetten, Egg and Bern Ried and other 96 small towns:

The town hall of Bern Ried is located in the village of Birket.

History

A large part of today's municipal territory belonged to Hofmark Egg, the Egg Castle located in the municipal area.

Incorporations

On 1 May 1978, the formerly independent communities Edenstetten and Egg were incorporated.

Population Development

In 1840 there were only 26 in Bern Ried estate. In the course of time, Bern Ried became a growing residential area towards Deggendorf. From 1961 to 1979 there was a population increase of 26.7 %, the place was in 1980 increased to approximately 3,700 residents.

The local elections of March 2, 2008, there were at a turnout of 69.91 % following result:

  • CSU 6 seats ( 34.07 %)
  • SPD 5 seats ( 31.66 %)
  • FWG 3 seats ( 18.56 %)
  • FL 2 seats ( 15.71% )

Mayor

1 Mayor Bern Ried is Eugen Gegenfurtner (SPD ), 2nd Mayor Georg Biller (CSU ) and third mayor is George Kerschl ( FWG ).

Coat of arms

The coat of arms description reads: Oblique shared by black and silver (the former coat of arms of Eckher eckh ); above a silver lily, below a red Linden branch with three leaves.

Local partnerships

Culture and sights

The defective late-Gothic church of St. Catherine in 1894 demolished down to the choir. After that, the current neo-Gothic three-nave church with pillars four bays and a 33 meter high tower was built. On 8 June 1895, the consecration took place.

Traffic

Bern Ried is on the A 3 motorway Nürnberg - Metten connected to the road network - Regensburg - Deggendorf, exit Schwarzach - Bern Ried or exit Egg. Also it takes Bernried on the motorway A92 from Munich. Exit in the urban area Deggendorf, in the tunnel towards Bern Ried.

Others

In Bern Ried, district Rebling, was until the end of 2011 from the Varta Guide and most recently in 2009 received an award from the magazine The Gourmet Gourmet -Restaurant "voice Hackls ESSKULTUR ".
