Berovo Municipality

The Opština Berovo ( Macedonian Берово ) is one of 84 Opštini Macedonia. Your headquarters is located in the city Berovo. The Opština bordered to the east by Bulgaria, on the north by Pehcevo, Delčevo and Vinica, on the west by Radoviš, to the south Bosilovo and Novo Selo. In the census of 2002, the population was 13,941. Part of the inhabitants belong to the ethnic group of Roma. Within the mountains, many small churches were built. Especially deep to hide in the valleys still small churches, as the population had fears that after the conquest of the Ottoman Empire, the churches would be destroyed.

Geography

The Opština Berovo located in the upper part of the river Bregalnica, which crosses the city Mačevo. Another river which crosses the area of Opština, the Flov. In the southeast of Opština is the Berovskosee. In the south of Berovo is up to 1352 m. i J. high ridge Maleševski, in the western part of the mountain Opština Ana Plackovica.

In Berovo climate is continental, with high summer temperatures and a pronounced winter.
