Bérulle

Bérulle is a commune with 264 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Aube department in the Champagne- Ardenne region; it belongs to the district of Troyes and the Canton of Aix -en -Othe.

Bérulle has eight districts: Bois- le- Roi, Berluviers, Les Quincarlets, Les Chalois, La Petite Jaronnée, Les Langots, Fort Jacquet, Pierre Fitte and Champ Marin.

History

In the mid- age the place was called Seant -en -Othe. 1562 sold the Duchess of Nevers, the area of Gallas de Bérulle, who lived in the neighboring Château de Cérilly. The town then took the name of its owner.
