Centroberyx affinis
The mucus heads ( Berycidae ) are in all oceans, at depths of 200 to 600 meters, living bony fish. You probably missing in the eastern Pacific. The 50 inches long expectant Nordic mucus head ( Beryx decadactylus ) wanders sometimes in the North Sea.
The big-eyed animals, as many fish deeper waters, of a reddish color. Its maximum length is depending on the type 20 centimeters to one meter. The head, especially the young fish is thorny.
Fins formula: Dorsal IV-VII/12-20, Anal IV/12-17 ( Centroberyx ) IV/25-30 ( Beryx ) Ventral I/7-13 The hard rays of the dorsal fin are from the first to the last ever higher.
