Bess Nkabinde

Bess Nkabinde - Mmono ( born as Bess Motsatsi ) ( born January 1, 1959 in Silwerkrans, now North West Province ) is a South African lawyer and since 2006 Judge at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of South Africa.

Education and professional career

Your school education received Nkabinde in Tweespruit in the province of Orange Free State. This is followed by a study completed at the University of Zululand, which she completed in 1983. She then moved to the University of Potchefstroom, where she was awarded the Bachelor of Laws in 1986. In 1984, she joined the civil service in their home country and was in the Justice Department operates. In 1988, she was admitted to the bar and first completed a practical training at the Bar Association in Johannesburg. Then she settled as a lawyer in Mafikeng and dealt with cases in the field of economic, family and criminal law. In 1993 Nkabinde part in a training course for lawyers in Canada. Between 1994 and 1995 she was a member of a committee of inquiry dealt with a revolt of the guards of the prison of Mogwase. From 1997 to 1999 she was also a board member of various companies. In February 1999, Nkabinde was appointed in Mafikeng to judge at the North West High Court. Just a year later she was appointed to a judgeship on the Labour Court of South Africa. A position she held until 2003. In October 2004 she became a member of the Labour Appeal Court of South Africa until she accepted a judgeship on the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa in June 2005. In early 2006, she was finally appointed by Thabo Mbeki as a judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of South Africa.
