Bessie Brown

Bessie Brown ( * 1895 in Cleveland, † 1955 also known as " The Original " Bessie Brown) was an American jazz and blues singer.

In the 20 years Brown joined in several revues on as a singer and drag artist. Your first record she released in 1925 Pathé, until 1929 followed twenty-three more. She was accompanied in her photographs of famous musicians like Thomas Morris, Rex Stewart, Charlie Irvis, Charlie Green, Coleman Hawkins, Buster Bailey, Clarence Holiday, Clarence Williams and Fletcher Henderson. Some of her pieces were published under the pseudonyms of Sadie Green and Caroline Lee.

Brown retired from show business in 1932 and died in 1955 of a heart attack. They had three children.
