Deneb Kaitos (Arabic tail of the monster ) is the name of the star β Ceti (Beta Ceti ). Deneb Kaitos has an apparent magnitude of 2.04 mag. He is an orange giant of spectral type K0 at a distance of about 100 light-years ( Hipparcos database). Deneb Kaitos is sometimes called Diphda ( frog). Other Names: Difda al Thani of الضفدع الثاني ad dafda ʿ at- Tani, the second frog ' ( "the first Frog" is Fomalhaut ) and synonymous Rana Secunda.
