Betzefer

Betzefer is a metal band from Tel -Aviv, Israel, which was founded in 1998.

History

The band was formed in 1998 by vocalist Avital Tamir, guitarist Matan Cohen and drummer Roey Berman. The band was initially established only for an appearance at their school ( hence the name Betzefer: from the Hebrew בית ספר, Beit Hasefer, dt 'school' ). From this developed further appearances in various local clubs. In 2000 the first EP was released called Pitz Aachabar. The following year, another EP called Some Tits, But No Bush appeared.

In 2003 appeared with New Hate the next EP. That same year, bassist Rotem Inbar joined the band. Sven " Svencho " de Caluwé, a friend of the band and singer of the band Aborted, attention was drawn to Betzefer and made contact with producer Kris Belaen on. The band has traveled to Belgium in order to record their debut album Down Low. The band also played in the Netherlands as the opening band for Fear Factory and reached a deal with Roadrunner Records, in which the album should be released. Remixed it was by Tue Madsen ( Mnemic, The Haunted, Illdisposed ).

End of May 2005 was followed by appearances in Germany together with Ektomorf and Soulfly. In early June the album Down Low was released. Following its followed by international tours with Soulfly, Lamb of God and Sepultura.

In 2008, the band went back into the studio and recorded the second album Freedom to the Slave Makers on. It was not until the beginning of February 2011, the album was released through AFM Records. 2013 appeared on Steamhammer / SPV the next album The Devil Went Down to the Holy Land.

Style

Characteristic of the band is the rough vocals, but which has also melodic passages. Another feature are the grooving passages in the songs. The works of Betzefer are compared with those of Pantera and Sepultura.
