Beverly Jensen

Beverly Jensen ( born July 17, 1953 in Westbrook (Maine ), † 13 July 2003 in the State of Maine ) was an American actress and writer whose short stories have been published in various literary journals and collected in novel form.

Life

Beverly Jensen, the youngest of four sisters who grew up in Westbrook ( Maine). At the University of Maine and Southern Methodist University, she studied acting. She played three years at the Barter Theatre in Abingdon (Virginia) before she went in 1978 to New York, where she took on Larry Moss further acting classes.

In 1984, she married Jay Silverman literature professor at Nassau Community College on Long Iceland. 1986 Jensen gave up acting. Two children were born (1987 and 1993), and Jensen took on a part-time job. The end of 2002 was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer Jensen. She died on 13 July 2003 in Maine.

Work

After she had stopped as an actress, Jensen began writing next to family and job, short stories in her spare time about her mother and her sister Idella Avis life. A publication they did not seek.

After her death, Jay Silverman took care of the literary legacy of his wife. Wake was published in 2006 in the literary magazine "New England Review". The short story was also selected for the anthology " The Best American Short Stories 2007," at the Stephen King worked as guest editor. The New England Review published two more short stories, Gone and Pan - Fried. Idella 's Dress was published in 2009 in " Sisters: An Anthology ". In the same year he published the magazine " Poets & Writers " Finding Beverly.

June 28, 2010 The Sisters from Hardscrabble Bay appeared, a compilation of short stories into a novel. The German version of The Hummer Sisters came out on 23 April 2012.
