The Bexter springs in Bad Salzuflen - Lockhausen and flows from its origin from the east. Here it flows through the Bexterwald, reach the hamlet Wülfer and flows east from this Wülferlieth at the left side at KM 34 in the Werre. In its course, the river travels a height difference of 29 m. The creek drains a small part of the Ravens Berger hill country and has no surface inflows. Another special feature is that the water body in its entire flow path n ( Ostwestfalenstraße ) flows parallel to L 712.
Environment
The Bexter is part of the nature reserve Bexter forest. The Bexter is associated with the water quality class II -III. This means that it is critically loaded.
