Beyerdynamic GmbH & Co. KG is a medium-sized electro-acoustic industry based in Heilbronn and is one of the most famous equipment manufacturers in the field of audio technology. There are a subsidiary in the USA ( beyerdynamic, Farmingdale, USA).

The Company's businesses are Conference & Presentation (conference systems and interpretation systems ), Music & Performance (microphones and headphones for professional use on theater, concerts or musicals ) and Broadcast, Video, Studio & Production ( microphones, headphones and headsets combinations for professional use in studio, radio or TV) and Consumer Products ( hi-fi headphones for end users). Since June 2006, the Aviation with microphones, headphones and headsets has been added for the pilot.

Beyerdynamic is not a member of an employers' association. Since 2001 there is a works council at the company. 2006 was concluded with the IG Metall a collective agreement.

History

Born in St. Petersburg in 1903 Eugen Beyer was pulled after the Russian Revolution with his family to Sweden and came to Berlin in the early 1920, the then center of the early audio technology. 1924, in the early years of sound films, he founded a company in Berlin for the production of theater speakers. In 1937 he developed the dynamic (measurement ) phone DT 48, a first dynamic headphones. Two years later, the dynamic microphone M 19, of the Reichs- Rundfunk -Gesellschaft ( RRG ) was used as a standard unit for reporting. Further developments were horn speaker and a voice recorder.

Due to the destruction of plant and machinery in the Second World War, the company moved in 1948 to Heilbronn to. There, the company initially produced in a former officers' mess in Bismarck Street. 1959, after the sudden death of Eugen Beyer, took over the management his son Fred R. Beyer ( 1934-2008 ). In 1960 a new building was purchased in the Theresienstadt road, where today the development, design and manufacturing, sales and commercial management are. Since 2005, in Böckingen district in the August Häußer Street, the service and logistics center (SLC ) with the shipment, the finished goods warehouse and the service and repair department located.
