Beylagan District

Beyləqan (also Beylagan ) is a rayon in Azerbaijan. Capital of the district is the city Beyləqan. The district is bordered to the south by the Iranian province of Ardabil.

Geography

The rayon has an area of 1,131 km ². The Aras River in the southeast forms the border with Iran, in the north of the rayon is bordered by the river Kura. The district is located in the Mil -level, the climate is dry and subtropical. Rayon is a part of the Ag - Gel National Park.

Population

The rayon had 2009 86.300 inhabitants.

Economy

The region is dominated by agriculture, it is mainly grown cotton, grain, and wine.
