Beyond the Stars

Moon Trek ( Original Title: Beyond the Stars, Alternative title: Moon Trek - The Light of the Dark Side, Personal Choice ). 's An American feature film of the genre of science fiction from the year 1989 was directed by David Saperstein, who also wrote the screenplay. The film starred Martin Sheen and Christian Slater.

Action

The student Eric Michaels experimented with rocket models. He caused an explosion in the school from which he is suspended for a few weeks. This time he spends with his divorced father Richard, a NASA employee who lives with Laurie McCall.

Eric learns Mara Simons know in which he falls in love. He also meets the suffering from alcoholism former astronaut Paul Andrews, who was once part of the Apollo program to the moon. Andrews is terminally ill. He tells Michael that he found on the moon evidence for the existence of extraterrestrials, which it passes to Eric shortly before his death.

Reviews

The film was referred to in the journal video week as a solid SF drama. In filmdienst of 21 March 1990 Stefan Lux described the film as largely succeeded, in part, but also naive and unreflective.
