Bibra (river)

The Bibra is a 12.7 km long, orographic left tributary of the Jüchse district Schmalkalden- Meiningen, southern Thuringia. It runs north across Wolfmannshausen, Queienfeld, Rentwertshausen, Bibra and Wölfershausen and opens above Ritsch Stockhausen.
The Bibra occupies about 40 % of the catchment area of the Jüchse, at their place of her mouth catchment area of 41.5 km ² compared with 52.1 km ² is only slightly smaller than that of their receiving waters. To the west, south and east of the catchment area of Bibra is surrounded by the the River Main, which is why it significantly the Rhine -Weser watershed added locally to the south. Its tributaries include the right which opens in Bibra, 4 km long retting.
