Bidur

Bidur is a town and administrative center in the upper reaches of the Trishuli in Nuwakot district in Nepal, about 25 km ( straight line ) northwest of Kathmandu.

Approximately 420 m above Bidur lies the mountain village of Nuwakot and the eponymous fortress, after which the district is named. It was built on the trade route between Tibet and Kathmandu in Mallastil in the 18th century. Nuwakot is one of a total of 9 Ghorkafestungen Pritvi Narayan Shah and was up to his capture of Kathmandu in 1768, the capital of his empire.
