Geographical location

The transmitter Biedenkopf is situated in the southern part of the Rothaargebirge. It is located in the city of Biedenkopf approximately 2.3 km north-east of the district Weifenbach and about 660 m (in each case a straight line ) southwest of the city located in Hatzfelder bagpipes peak at about 666 m altitude. About 270 m west-northwest of the mountain summit is - except for the transmission tower of the plant - another transmission tower.

Frequencies and programs

Analogue radio (FM )

The antenna pattern of the main beam directions are given in degrees in the case of directed radiation.

Until the early 1990s also WDR 1 was sent to 95.8 MHz with 15 kW ND H. This frequency is currently used by the site Eder head out for WDR 5. On the frequency 102.3 MHz, the regional window northern Hesse hr4_Nord aired from hr4 to April 2005, then was transferred to this frequency hr- info. On February 11, 2013, came to a frequency castling at Hessischer Rundfunk, among other things, the result of which hr2 frequency 99.6 MHz on the transmitter Biedenkopf lost without replacement. Instead, joined hr- info on this frequency and the resulting vacant frequency 102.3 MHz went to YOU FM.

TV

Until the switchover to DVB - T on May 29, 2006 by the transmitter system Biedenkopf ( bagpipe ) sent the following program in analog PAL:

Since then, the television supply means Hesse is ensured by the T-Systems Location Angelburg.

Often the reception of DVB- T from the Hessian Rhine -Main area is possible in the transmitter Biedenkopf catchment area. From there, the private broadcaster RTL Group and ProSiebenSat.1 well as a mixed private multiplex, which also includes Tele 5, be received. A vertically on the location Grosser Feldberg im Taunus aligned roof antenna is the best solution in this regard. Room or outdoor antenna reception may also be possible in favorable areas.
