Biem is a village in the north of the state of Unity in South Sudan.

Biem lies north of the river Bahr al-Arab, and thus geographically in the north of Sudan, belongs ethnically and politically, however, South Sudan. Biem is mainly inhabited by pastoralists ( kwil ) Dinka.

The place is in the field of oil resources of Heglig, southeast of the city, and about 70 kilometers northeast of Bentiu. During the Civil War in South Sudan Biem was not least affected because of its proximity to the border with Northern Sudan and the oil fields, which led to starvation among the local population and an influx of internally displaced persons. Biem was here under the control of the rebel Sudan People's Liberation Army, which perpetrated from here attacks on oil production facilities. 1999 destroyed government troops in an offensive village.
