Big Bad Wolf (roller coaster)

The Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens Williamsburg ( Williamsburg, Virginia) was a steel roller coaster model from Arrow Dynamics suspended coaster manufacturer, which on 15 June 1984 in the then Busch Gardens: The Old Country was opened. The roller coaster was the first permanent functional version of a roller coaster type Suspended Coasters, previous equipment had significant design flaws. 24 July 2009 announced Busch Gardens, the closure of the railway on September 7, 2009.

Originally it was planned a similar roller coaster from Schwarzkopf erect. Due to the initiated bankruptcy of the company and problems in the testing phase but the contract has been canceled. The already set the foundations for the designed by Werner Stengel route of the railway was used by Arrow, who already finished props were scrapped, however. It came, not as von Stengel, trains with two large pods for each 14 persons employed. The Arrow engineer Ron Toomer sat, as with The Bat, on trains with seven cars for every four people (two rows of two people). The three trains shoulder-straps are used as the retaining system.

The 854 m long roller coaster was heavily discussed and used terrain jumps. The track led by a " Black Forest " mentioned forest past South German -style houses and various watercourses. During the journey, the individual cars of the trains due to the centripetal force swung heavily from to side, so that the passenger had a feeling he would collide with the houses. After the second 31 m high lift hill, the train plunged 24 m up to 77 km / h in the depth to an elongated steep curve on the " Rhine River " said Lake.

To demolish the decided Parking Guidance, despite the great popularity of the web, due to the sharp rise in uneconomic maintenance costs.
