Big C
Big C, or Big C Supercenter ( Thai: บิ๊ ก ซี ซู เปอร์ เซ็นเตอร์ ), is a retail chain based in Bangkok, Thailand. Big C is the leading hypermarket chain in Thailand. Big C is also represented in Laos except in Thailand.
History
The company was established by the Central Group, a family of Chirathivat family in 1993 and opened its first location in 1994 at Chaengwattana Road in Bangkok. Big C PCL was 1995 to the Stock Exchange of Thailand and has since been listed there. 1999, the French Groupe Casino was taken via a capital increase as a strategic partner on board. In 2002, the Big C Foundation was established, they support less privileged children. 2007, the Big C store brand the Happy Baht brand was founded in 2008. 2009, the Big C Loyalty Program with the Big C was introduced card, 2010 were willing issued 5 million cards. 2011 took over the Big C operated 42 of Carrefour in Thailand locations. The largest shareholder is Groupe Casino and the Chirathivat Group.
Today, Big C supermarket operates 268 locations and 117 shopping centers.

In addition to the hypermarkets Big C Jumbo ( ~ 10,000 m² ), Big C Extra ( premium supermarkets ) (> 2500 m ), Big C Supercenter ( > 2500 m ), Big C Market ( 300-2500 m ) operates the chain still 90 24 hours convenience stores Mini Big C (<300 m ), 50 Pure by Big C sell the drugstore products and medicines and 2 Big C Optical. The newly established partnership with Bangchak, the second largest station operator in Thailand, an environment for 300 new Mini Big C was created in the next 5 years.
