Big City Life is a song by British hip-hop duo Mattafix. It is included on the album Signs of a Struggle. The song had to owe this success, among other things also the radio DJ Pete Tong, Zane Low and Jo Wiley, who were promoting the song on the radio station BBC. The single was released on 8 August 2005 in the UK and later in Germany. The song could reach the chart top 5 countries in Europe and come in 2nd place. Part of the chorus is sung in the Jamaican- Creole language. Mattafix won in 2006 at the Sopot Festival with the song competition. The title is included in the track list of the video game 2006 FIFA World Cup. In Germany, the single reached platinum status, reaching number 7 of the year and 58th of decade charts.
