Bikya (also known as Furu ) is an isolated bantoide language that is spoken in Cameroon.
In 1986, four surviving speakers were identified, although only one - man over 70 years - yet mastered the language fluently.
However, there was still a 87 -year-old woman who Bikya language as their mother tongue, filmed. All records indicate that she was the last speaker who could speak this language fluently. The recordings were made for the archive in order to preserve the language before it disappears forever.
