Bílá Třemešná

Bila Třemešná ( German White Tremeschna, 1939-45 Bílá Třemešná ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers west of Dvůr Králové nad Labem and belongs to Okres Trutnov.

Geography

The place is located on the right side of the Elbe River at the foot of the ridge Zvičinský hřbet and is drained by the creek Netřeba. To the north is the dam Les Království. Southeast, between Nové Lesy and Dvůr Králové nad Labem, extending along the Netřeba the Zoo Dvur Kralove nad Labem. In the northwest, the 671 meter high Zvičina rises.

Neighboring towns are Dolni Brusnice in the north, Nemojov, Aleje and Podháj in the northeast, Verdek, Nové Lesy and Filířovice in the east, dubinka the southeast, Dolni Dehtov and Horni Dehtov in the south, Třebihošť in the southwest, and Brezina, Nade VSI and Zvičina in the West.

History

The village was probably founded around 1238. Its name derives from the Old Czech word třěmcha ( Ahlkirsche ); the added later addition bílá (White) probably comes from the occurring in the area light sandstone. First mentioned was the place in 1270 at the beginning of the 15th century, he was also known as Weykersdorff superiori. ; this German name for the last time to find 1416.
