Bild am Sonntag

The Bild am Sonntag ( BamS ) is a tabloid newspaper and appears in the Axel Springer AG since April 29, 1956. With a paid circulation of 1,189,060 copies, the BamS is the top-selling Sunday newspaper in Germany. Editorial office in Berlin.

The BamS is a family-friendly designed as the image appears from Monday to Saturday. They also appear in the smaller newspaper format "Nordic tabloid ".

The BamS can just as now, the Bild newspaper to subscribe to. They also sold about 30,000 " outpatient Sunday dealers " (ASH ) in Germany at the front door. They are organized in " Sunday Club". In addition, the BamS is sold in gas stations, bakeries and other shops open on Sundays. About the newspaper vending machine the image is, however, not available.

The newspaper initially appeared under the title Evening Gazette on Sunday.

Editor Kai Diekmann, chief editor was from October 2000 to July 2008 Claus Strunz, who was replaced in this role on 1 August 2008 by Walter Mayer. On September 13, 2013, the Axel Springer AG announced that Marion Horn from October 2013 is new editor of the Bild am Sonntag and thus replaces Walter Mayer. Horn was previously Deputy Chief Editor of the image.

Support development

The Bild am Sonntag has as well as the Bild newspaper lost heavily in recent years to support. Paid circulation has declined by 51.7 percent since 1998.
