Bilharz (crater)

44.55

Bilharz is an impact crater on Earth's Moon. It is located in the eastern part of the Mare Fecunditatis, northwest striking crater Langrenus. It is the largest crater of a group of three, it forms with Atwood in the east and Naonobu in the Northeast. All three had previously been considered satellite crater of Langrenus.

The interior of Bilharz was flooded by basaltic lava, leaving a flat crater floor almost without striking markings with the exception of some micro-craters. A central collection is missing. The rim is circular and shows only slight signs of erosion.

The crater was named Langrenus F before it received its present name in 1976 by the IAU.
