Bilistiche

Bilistiche (Greek: Βιλιστίχη ), also Belistiche was a Greek courtesan of unknown origin.

According to Pausianas it came from the Kingdom of Macedonia. According to Plutarch, it was sold as a slave to Greece. She won both the 264 BC Tethrippon (Greek τέθριππον, chariot race with a four-horse chariot ) and the Synoris (Greek ξυνωρὶς, chariot race with a two-horse chariot ) at the Olympic Games of antiquity. She became the mistress of Ptolemy II and was idolized by this as Aphrodite Bilistiche. Clement of Alexandria says she was buried in the Serapeum of Alexandria.
